This filly has just run 2nd at her trial which is a promising result for a stayer. She will show even more improvement over ground. Trainer thinks she has real ability. If you would like to lease a great Oaks prospect please read on. She is being targeted for the NZ Oaks.
From the same site as Molly Bloom the recent Group 1 winning filly currently favourite for the Karaka 3yo race in January.
The filly is now in training in NZ and progressing well with her education.
Since the start of The Championships on April 1, 2023, there have been 14 Group 1 races staged in Australia and Kiwi-breds have won 11 of them, including all three of the top-flight races held at Morphettville.
This rising 2yo, NZ filly is directly out of an Oaks winning Dam line with her Grand Dam winning the Group 1 NZ Oaks.
She is by Ace High (Aus) from a winning Zabeel mare with amazing bloodlines on all sides including High Chapparal, Sadlers Wells and Last Tycoon, not to mention the Japanese pedigree Jungle Pocket.
Ace High's first crop have impressed at the Avondale trials with three of his progeny trialling for two winners and a close-up second.
NZ bred horses are only around 7% or runners but have won 29% of Group One races in Australia in 2021-22. There have also been more than 50 Black Type placings. Pennyweka has just won the Sydney OAKS after winning the NZ Oaks showing the NZ form stacks up in Australia on the staying races.
This NZ bred filly was born in 2021 and is a very athletic strong type.
The stallion Ace High is a dual G1 winning son of High Chaparral. His dam is sired by Redoute's Choice and his grand dam is by Sunday Silence. It is unusual to see three breed shaping stallions so close up in the pedigree.
Ace High hails from the greatest stallion producing family in modern thoroughbred history, that of Danehill, Northern Dancer, Machiavellian and Halo.
Ace High yearlings have sold for up to $160,000 this year and his progeny is in high demand.
Zabeel as a Broodmare sire was Australia and New Zealand's champion broodmare sire three times each. Zabeel himself dominated the stallions awards numerous time in Australia and New Zealand.
The cross has resulted in 16.6% Stakes winners and 73% winners.
