Description

Wingrove Park presents the opportunity to lease this VOBIS Gold filly that hails from a winning family with the breeders of Royal Symphony.

Based in the Macedon Ranges of Victoria, the stud farm is responsible for sixteen black-type and metropolitan winners from a boutique of broodmares – some of which are closely related to this filly!

Respark has entered her second preparation of training and will trial before Christmas and is expected to race early in 2019 with an eye for 1400m + races! She is showing all the right signs in training and is a very intelligent filly.

“What a page this girl has - from a stakes winning dam littered with black-type and by a stallion that is renowned for producing Group 1 winners... we are very excited about what she can do as a 3yo mile type” – Joe Vella, CEO Wingrove Park.

This filly is bred in the purple, hailing from a stakes winning Flying Spur mare and by proven Group 1 winning stallion, Reset. Her dam Sparks Fly won the Listed Morphettville Guineas and was a 2yo metropolitan winner. Sparks Fly would also finish third in the Group 2 Edward Manifold and Group 3 Vanity Stakes and fifth in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas. She is the half-sister to five winners and two other black-type earners who have collectively won over $500,000 in stakes!

She has strong breeding back to Sir Ivor for those breeding enthusiasts.

In the breeding barn she is also leaving her mark with the first of her progeny a four-time winner (as recent as 01/11/17). Flying Spark (by Denman) won at metropolitan level on Bendigo Cup Day at Benchmark 70 level and finished fifth in the Hilton Stakes over the Flemington Carnival to dual Group 1 winner Palentino.

Her latest foal by Lonhro sold at the 2016 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale for $160,000. Such his talent in a sizzling Cranbourne trial, he was sold to Hong Kong and named Yee Cheong Pegasus. He has already finished second and started favourite in just four starts at Sha Tin and finished an impressive second in his most recent trial (03/07/18).

Reset continues to make his mark on the Darley stallion roster with his progeny winning all the classic races including Cox Plate (Pinker Pinker), Caulfield Cup (Fawkner), VRC Derby (Rebel Raider), VRC Oaks (Set Square) and Epsom Handicap (Hauraki). Reset is the stallion to 383 individual winners – 31 of these at stakes level and in 2017 yearlings sold as high as $180,000 in the sales ring.

With mum a black-type earner and proven producer and Dad an icon of the Australian breeding industry - what more could you possibly want in a racehorse?

The filly is currently in full training at Bendigo with stakes winning trainer Shane Fliedner and ready to commence her racing preparation. She is broken in, had a full training campaign and is ready to race!
