Description

It’s Another Bullet Train and We Hope She’s As Good As Our Very Own Gunbolt!

In the last 12 months, we’ve purchased three of the progeny of Bullet Train-the well credentialed ¾ brother to the unbeaten World Champion racehorse FRANKEL, so that must tell you that WE LIKE HIM!

The first of them is named GUNBOLT, and at the time of writing, he has had two starts in the Grand Syndicates colours for a placing and a most impressive win when he was caught deep all the way, got bumped in the straight on a number of occasions and still got up to win. It was a huge effort and one that gave us more than enough confidence to go out and buy a couple more Bullet Trains. The second of them was purchased at the Magic Millions’ ‘Horses In Training’ sale and is currently being syndicated through Belhus Racing Stables, and this filly, purchased from the recent Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast is the third. And what a good looking filly she is. A tall filly with good leg conformation, she’s got a beautiful, intelligent looking head, her strong neck sits on a powerful shoulder as you can see from the photo, and her forequarter is nicely matched up with ample hindquarters too. She’s certainly ‘well rumped’ and looks every inch a racehorse in the making.

BULLET TRAIN (by Sadler’s Wells) was a winner of the G3 Lingfield Derby Trial, though as English racing allows, often sent out as the pacemaker for his undefeated champion stablemate Frankel through most of his latter career, which meant that we unfortunately never saw his best on the racetrack, though he was still certainly a highly talented performer in his own right, defeating no fewer than 11 Group I performers during his short 14 start career. With just the 2 crops of progeny to hit the ground so far, he has already produced 37 winners, including the stakes-winner WHISKEY TRAIN, as well as prolific 7-time winner Cottle, from his limited book of mares.

The filly’s dam Let’s Hussle is a 3-time winner from a handy winner producing family. She’s a half sister to RACEWAY who won the Listed Canonbury Stakes, in addition to running 2nd in the Group 3 Skyline Stakes, 5th in the Group 1 Golden Slipper behind champion PIERRO, and then 4th in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes, this time behind PIERRO and ALL TOO HARD in what was to be a vintage 2yo year.

Importantly, this filly has another big advantage in that she’s from a winning HUSSONET mare. Last season in Australia, though still young by standards and not having the depth of runners on the ground, HUSSONET led every leading stallion in Australia by strike rate as a percentage of winners to runners, number of wins, stakes winners and total stakes wins. This includes the champions, ENCOSTA DE LAGO, ZABEEL, REDOUTE’S CHOICE and DANEHILL. It’s not hard to see why many are already calling HUSSONET Australia’s best broodmare sire and why we get very excited when we’re able to get our hands on a yearling from one of his nice daughters.

With her first foal to race, Let’s Hussle has already produced the 4-time (and counting) winner Salesman, who is by the underperformed and now retired stallion TICKETS. Though an exciting racehorse, there isn’t anyone in the industry who wouldn’t say that Tickets was a very disappointing stallion and the fact that Let’s Hussle has produced one of his best few progeny from her first foal to race, says that she’s got more than what it takes to be a successful broodmare.

To be trained by leading Grand Syndicates trainer Bruce Hill on the Gold Coast, this filly is incredible value with full 5% shares are priced at only $1,100 and Grand’s “no stress” fixed fees at $6.60 a day budgeted to cover all costs. Grand Syndicates continue to make it as affordable as ever to experience the excitement of owning your own racehorse, and we look forward to having you join us in this filly.
