Glyn Schofield suspended at Scone carnival

Saturday 13 May 2017, 5:43pm

Glyn Schofield has had his day at Scone soured further by a suspension for his ride on beaten favourite Prized Icon in the Scone Guineas.

Schofield pleaded guilty to shifting out in the final stages when not clear of the winner France's stablemate Calanda who had to be checked.

Stewards took into account that France had shifted in on Calanda before Tye Angland corrected his mount.

France beat Prized Icon by a short head to win the $400,000 race.

Schofield will be out from May 21 to May 31, meaning he will miss the Group One Kingsford Smith Cup day at Eagle Farm.
