This mare is being sold to dissolve a syndicate.


She is by the Champion 2YO Sebring, winner of the Golden Slipper and leading second season sire in Australia last year. In his short stud career he has sired 155 winner including 14 Stakes winners such as Group 1 performers Dissident, Criterion and Bring Me The Maid; his oldest runners are only 5yos and his daughters will surely be sort after as broodmares in years to come.


Her dam Nero Cavallo is a daughter of Huntington Girl who was stakes-placed and has had an incredible 15 runners for 13 winners, 4 of them stakes class horses. Her daughters have also been very effective in the breeding barn with 4 of them already having produced stakes class horses. It's a fantastic family that produces quality race horses year in and year out including horses such as Dynamic Love, Key Bar Nights, Princess Margaret, Barbed and Bold Circle.


Nero Cavallo has some nicely bred daughters by sires such as Show A Heart, Stratum, Rothesay and Falvelon who are in the early stage of their breeding/racing careers as well as a Zoustar weanling colt who will be given every chance of further strengthening this family's pedigree in the near future.


Cynisca is a very nice type of mare who is structurally correct. She has never shown a sign of lameness. Vet inspections welcome.


She is a lightly raced horse who showed good potential early, twice starting favourite at Eagle Farm. She has form around metropolitan class horses such as Board Director, Everybody Happy, Gherardini and Italian Storm. In her short career, Cynisca has not had good luck on the track. She gets back in her races, which has meant she has found more than her share of interference – including black eyes and bucking horses. After striking a bottomless heavy track at the Sunshine Coast earlier this year, which took the edge off her, she was allowed a good 3 month spell in order to recover and fully mature.


She started this preparation well with a win in an unofficial trial at Doomben (see video) before heading to the track for three lacklustre performances. Cynisca’s mind seems to be in a place that does not involve the racetrack and for whatever reason her performances have been telling us to pursue a different career path with this mare.
Cynisca is a sound, very well-bred, nicely put together mare that has a quiet, relaxed and friendly temperament around the stables. She would make a nice addition to someone’s broodmare portfolio.
