Sire:
THEROCK (AUS) By champion sire FASTNET ROCK.
Therock was a standout foal from the first crop of Fastnet Rock. Selling for $407,000 as a weanling, Therock was clearly a magnificent looking horse. He is big, powerful, muscular and exceptionally athletic. Therock was one of Gerald Ryan’s three 3yo stable stars alongside Melito and Rothesay. After winning his second consecutive Sydney race as a 3 yo (defeating many subsequent stakes winners), he was ruling favourite for the $1m NZ G1 2000 Guineas. Regrettably for connections, Therock pulled up sore from his blistering win and never got the opportunity to win the stakes race he deserved. Golden Slipper winning jockey Chris Munce immediately labelled Therock a Group 1 horse on TVN following his win at Rosehill.
Therock is a quality son of the hottest stallion on the planet in Fastnet Rock. His Group 1 winners have included Atlantic Jewel, Mosheen, Nechita, Foxwedge, Sea Siren, Wanted, Rock ’N’ Pop, Super Cool, Lone Rock, Irish Lights, Rock Classic, Planet Rock, Atlante & Albany Reunion.
Sons of Fastnet Rock have been overwhelmingly popular with Australia’s leading trainers with their yearlings selling for outstanding sums at this year’s Magic Millions. Wanted yearlings sold for up to $200,000; Hinchinbrook for up to $250,000; Stryker for up to $220,000 & Rothesay for up to $140,000.
Dam:
Hussonday Adieu by Hussonet, sire of Weekend Hussler. Half-sister to 2yo stakes placed Husskila and prolific city winner Sunday Adieu. Dam’s family is one of the best female families in the Stud Book.
Trainer Profile:
Darren Weir has emerged as Victorian’s leading trainer and one of the most successful trainers in Australia. Darren has an exceptional strike rate and an ability to place his horses to perfection. It is an exceptional show of faith that Darren has requested to retain a 10% share in this yearling.
Here’s your chance to get into racing a quality horse:
• By a magnificent looking son of the hottest stallion on the planet
• A stallion with undoubted racetrack ability
