UPDATE: 18 Sept 09
Precautionary knee x-rays undertaken to ensure that growth plates had come together completely before he does any fast work. As it transpires, they are very close but we will err on the side of caution and put him back in the paddock for a month or so to make sure. Copies attached.
He is very forward having the benefit of a mini-prep in June.
UPDATE: 09 Sept09
He's now in his 5th week of pre-training. The pre-trainer reports that he is doing everything right... Eating the place down, thriving on the stable routine, working well through the bridle with his head on his chest (up to pacework), mature beyond his years viz attitude generally and barrier education in particular.
We have arranged to have knees x-rayed next week - our usual process as a means of identifying that growth plates have come together before stepping him up to evens.
Provided that he continues to thrive, we plan to continue towards a jump-out, trial and early season debut.
We very excited about his prospects and eagerly look forward to the next few months...
