Pure Speed – He’s bred for Pure Speed being by a Gr.1 Newmarket Hcp winner, out of a Gr.1 Oakleigh Plate winner.

Early 2yo – He had early 2yo speed, winning on debut in December of his juvenile year before going on to win the Gr.2 Silver Slipper as a 2yo.

Trained on – He was then one of only a few to go on as a 3yo and defeat older horses at Stakes level inc. subsequent Gr.1 Newmarket Hcp winner The Quarterback when victorious in the Kensington Stakes, a sprint down the Flemington straight.

Type and conformation – He is an impeccable type, retired sound, and fetched half a million dollars as a yearling.

The filly is the second foal for the promising juvenile Ridiculous (Duporth), who placed 3rd on debut at Canberra at 2 – her only start. Ridiculous is a half-sister to the Group Three Placed Holy Delusions (Holy Roman Emperor). Their dam, the US Stakes performer Popular Delusions is a half-sister to five Stakes performers, including the Group Three winning filly CLAMOROSA.

Trainer: The trainer will be Greg Hickman who started in 1990 with only eight horses. The stable is now established with twenty horses in work at Warwick Farm

Greg is a multiple group winning trainer with a number of years’ experience in the industry. In the last couple of years he has had great success at the Magic Millions Race Carnival winning with both PRIVATE SECRETARY and PIERATA. ELEVEN ELEVEN, PRIVATE SECRETARY who was his first million dollar earner and that has now been followed on by PIERATA, a multi group winner and now 1st season stallion.

Being a small stable, Greg prides himself on each horse being treated as an individual, providing the possibility for each to reach their potential with each race and win, which is very important to all in the stable.

Gregory has inspected the filly at the spelling yards and was impressed by her confirmation and movement. She will remain there until the lease has been finalised.

A 5% lease will entitle you to propose a name for the new filly. All names will be published and a vote taken by all lessees to select the name from the published list.

The cost involved in having a race horse varies depending on what stage of a preparation they are at. If they are spelling in the paddock or at the start of a preparation it is cheaper, and as they progress to racing it is a little more expensive as there are extra costs involved such as transporting to the races and race day fees.

On average we say if you allow $62.50 per week for a 5% share this normally covers most costs.
