Gai Waterhouse has moved quickly to secure Joao Moreira to ride Sweet Idea in the Group One TJ Smith Stakes.

Moreira's booking comes after the mare broke through at Group One level in her Galaxy win for Blake Shinn at Rosehill on Saturday.

Shinn was suspended for his ride in the race and he will sit out the first day of The Championships at Randwick.

Hong Kong-based Moreira enjoyed success for Waterhouse during the Sydney spring carnival, winning the Dulcify Quality on Hampton Court.

Sweet Idea, a $9 chance to win the TJ Smith, is one of only four runners at single-figure odds for the $2.5 million race on April 4.

Chautauqua ($2.80), Terravista ($3.50) and Lankan Rupee ($5) dominate the market.
