Riley happy with I'm Too Sexy

The Queensland heat won't be a problem for I'm Too Sexy and Victorian trainer Mark Riley is also confident she can handle the distance of Saturday's B J McLachlan Stakes.

I'm Too Sexy has impressed the Mornington-based Riley with her progress since she arrived at the Gold Coast earlier this month to prepare for the Magic Millions Classic (1200m) there on January 12.

South-East Queensland has been sweltering in the hot, humid conditions of a typical summer but Riley says the stifling weather hasn't troubled I'm Too Sexy.

"I'm so pleased I sent her up there early which has given her plenty of time to adjust to it all," he said.

"It's been a blessing for her I think to have settled in to the different environment as well as she has."

The filly was the winner of the inaugural Ballarat Magic Millions Clockwise Classic (1000m) at her first start on November 25.

She steps up to 1200m in the McLachlan, a distance Riley says will be ideal for the daughter of Reaan.

"I actually think distances beyond 1200 metres is what she wants," Riley said.

"She'll handle a mile later on without any trouble and will make a lovely three-year-old."

I'm Too Sexy was a three length winner of a 1000m barrier trial at the Gold Coast last Tuesday to keep her fitness levels where Riley wants them to be.

"It was a nice trial and she only did what she needed to do," he said.

"The whole idea was to trial her and have her on the way up and not on the way out so I'm very happy with where she's at."

The filly has surprised Riley with what she has achieved in her first campaign.

"We didn't perceive the Millions would be our aim when we bought her and what she's doing so far is just a bonus for us," he said.

With prize money of $122,000 from her Ballarat win, I'm Too Sexy is the second leading qualifier for the Millions behind Assail who won last Thursday's Wyong Millions to claim top ranking and favouritism for the Gold Coast feature.

Riley's last runner in Queensland was Gold In Dubai who won the Ipswich Cup and finished second in the Caloundra Cup last year.
