Sydney's premier jockey Hugh Bowman was hit with a careless riding suspension at Warwick Farm on Saturday but his ban won't start until after next weekend's Magic Millions meeting.
Bowman was suspended for five meetings for shifting in near the 800m mark aboard Nuptse in the Bowermans Office Furniture Handicap which led to Charzed being tightened for room and then checked.
The ban would have been seven meetings had it not been for a discount because of Bowman's good record of one previous suspension in the past 12 months.
Bowman's suspension starts after next Saturday's Magic Millions meeting where his rides include Phelan Ready Stakes winner Sir Luminar in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m).
He can return to the saddle on January 26.
