Blue Diamond Preview for Miracles Of Life

Sunday 6 January 2013, 3:56pm

A tilt at the Blue Diamond Stakes is now closer to reality for Adelaide filly Miracles Of Life who has won her only two starts by a combined 14-1/2 lengths.

Miracles Of Life is raced by Teely Assets, the bloodstock company of Sri Lankan businessman Muzaffar Ali Yaseen, best known as the man who raced Redoute's Choice, the 1999 Blue Diamond winner and the grand sire of his filly.

By Not A Single Doubt, Miracles Of Life is the first foal from the unraced Dazzling Gazelle and is trained by Daniel Clarken at Morphettville.

She won her second start, a 1050m sprint at Morphettville on Saturday, by nine lengths prompting talk of the $1 million Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) on February 23 at Caulfield.

"I haven't spoken to the owners about it yet but I dare say that's the way we'll be going," Clarken told racingvictoria.net.au.

"We initially thought she was a nice Adelaide filly but she's gone beyond that now.

"Just off what we saw yesterday with the time she ran (1:01.36) and how easily she did it, we're going to have to raise the bar I think."

Clarken said the next logical step for Miracles Of Life was the Blue Diamond Fillies Preview (1000m) on Australia Day.

"The Preview will give us an indication of whether she is up to it or not," he said.

"She's still got to travel over there and has a lot of things against her. She's got to step up and take that next step."

Second acceptances for the Group One Blue Diamond will be taken on Tuesday.

Miracles Of Life was not among the original nominations for the Blue Diamond and a payment of a $5500 late entry fee will be needed.
