Ball Of Muscle to make G1 debut in Moir

Thursday 1 October 2015, 6:36am

The Moir Stakes presents Sydney sprinter Ball Of Muscle with his first chance to join siblings Terravista and Tiger Tees as a Group One winner.

Ball Of Muscle, winner of this year's Group Two QTC Sprint, makes his Group One debut in Friday night's Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley.

The five-year-old will attempt to become the fourth Group One winner out of the mare Parfore.

Two of Parfore's three Group One-winning progeny, Darley Classic winner Terravista and 2013 Galaxy winner Tiger Tees, are trained at Warwick Farm by Joe Pride who also prepares Ball Of Muscle.

Dual Singapore horse of the year Super Easy is the fourth Group One winner out of the mare.

Ball Of Muscle has been placed in the Concorde Stakes and The Shorts in his two starts this preparation and has barrier one in the 1000m weight-for-age sprint.

The unbeaten Petits Filous is the $2.30 favourite ahead of fellow three-year-old filly Fontiton at $4.40 with that pair to carry 51kg.

Defending champ Buffering is at $7.50 while Ball Of Muscle is at $9.
