Vanbrugh tops field of 10 for Spring Champ

Wednesday 7 October 2015, 10:09am

Vanbrugh remains favourite to give Chris Waller his first Spring Champion Stakes win after drawing barrier six in the Group One race.

He will be joined in Saturday's 2000m feature by stablemate Devil Hawk, winner of the Spring Stakes at Newcastle two starts ago.

Queensland trainer Desleigh Forster has accepted with the in-form Too Good To Refuse and I'm Belucci who have drawn barriers three and nine respectively in the 10-horse field.

Vanbrugh earned favouritism for the Spring Champion with an authoritative last-start win in the Gloaming Stakes, beating the fast-finishing Tatoosh.

Tatoosh will return for a rematch at Randwick and Corey Brown will make the trip from Singapore to ride.
