The first European-bred yearling by champion sire Redoute's Choice to be offered in Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale has sold for 725,000 guineas (~$1.6 million).

The filly from Yummy Mummy is a three-quarter sister to this year's outstanding 3YO filly Legatissimo (by Danehill Dancer), winner of The One Thousand Guineas G1 and two other Group 1 races, and runner-up in The Oaks G1.

Yummy Mummy (by Montjeu) is a winning sister to Champion European Stayer Fame And Glory, from the family of dual Group 1 winner Farhh.

The attractive, loose-walking bay filly was consigned as Lot 24 by her breeder Newsells Park Stud and purchased by Coolmore's M.V. Magnier, son of John and Susan, who race Legatissimo with Michael Tabor & Derrick Smith. The underbidder was the China Horse Club.

M.V. Magnier said, "We were lucky enough to buy Legatissimo at this sale two years ago and if this filly is half as good as her, we'll be happy. This family has been very lucky for us - you have Fame And Glory under the second dam - and this is a lovely filly."

Julian Dollar, General Manager of Newsells Park Stud, said, "You've got to be happy with that [the price]. She made her value. She's going to a great home - they know how to train daughters out of that mare! It's bittersweet as we'd have loved to have kept her but selling is our modus operandi and everyone knows that."

The filly is the 67th Redoute's Choice yearling to sell for seven figures or the equivalent in Australian dollars. She is also his top-priced yearling worldwide in 2015, heading off the €950,000 (~$1.4 million) Vadawina colt sold by Haras d'Etreham to John Ferguson at the Arqana August Sale, and Arrowfield's $1.1 million Weekend Beauty filly bought by Takaya Shimakawa at Inglis Easter.

Another two fillies and three colts by Australia's three-time champion sire will be offered from Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale over the next two days, with the filly from Arabescatta catalogued in Book 2.

Redoute's Choice shuttled to HH The Aga Khan's Haras de Bonneval in France for the 2013 & 2014 northern hemisphere seasons.

He is second on the current season Australian General Sires' table with $1.8 million prizemoney and four stakeswinners (Royal Descent, Peeping, She's Clean & Counterattack) and posted his 125th lifetime stakeswinner in Japan last weekend.
