Buffering favourite for fourth Qld title

Star Queensland sprinter Buffering is favourite to win an unprecedented fourth Queensland Horse of the Year Award.

Although he missed this year's winter carnival with an injury, the Robert Heathcote-trained Buffering was still the only Queensland horse to win a Group One race last season, the 2014 Moir Stakes.

Earlier this month, the eight-year-old defended his title in the Moir at Moonee Valley.

The finalists for Monday night's awards are:

Horse Of The Year: Buffering, Jetset Lad, Rudy, Tinto

4YO and older: Buffering, Jetset Lad, Rudy, Tinto

3YO: Hijack Hussy, Worthy Cause, Jumbo Prince, Traveston Girl

2YO: Wicked Intent, Le Chef, Sagaronne, Hardline, Blueberry Hill

Jockey: Damian Browne, Jim Byrne, Luke Tarrant

Apprentice: Luke Tarrant, Matt McGuren, Bridget Grylls, Emma Ljung, Luke Dittman

Trainer: Robert Heathcote, Tony Gollan, Liam Birchley
