NSW punters to bet into Hong Kong pools

NSW TAB punters will now be able to bet into the large Hong Kong pools following an agreement with HKJC Race Betting Limited.

The arrangement begins with Wednesday night's meeting at Happy Valley.

"Hong Kong holds the world's biggest wagering pools and Hong Kong racing is regarded for its high quality," Tabcorp's chief operating officer - wagering and media, Craig Nugent, said.

As a requirement of co-mingling into the Hong Kong pools, the HKJC Horse Race Betting Limited will close the TAB pool for betting as the final horse in the field enters the barrier.

Tabcorp customers wagered almost $73 million on Hong Kong racing last financial year.

The Tabcorp operated Victorian TAB began co-mingling with the Hong Kong Jockey Club 12 months ago.
