Fast `N' Rocking has shown his appreciation for high-pressure racing with a win at Caulfield.
And the Lindsay Park team is hoping that form can carry over to a Group One race at Moonee Valley for the son of Fastnet Rock.
Co-trainer David Hayes, who prepares the gelding with Tom Dabernig, has the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley on October 23 in mind for the five-year-old.
Ridden by Michael Walker, Fast `N' Rocking ($5.50) scored by 2-1/4 lengths from The Quarterback ($9) with Kaepernick ($5) a nose away third in Wednesday's italktravel Stakes over 1200m.
Fast `N' Rocking has placings at Group One level when second in the 2013 Blue Diamond Stakes and third in this year's Oakleigh Plate.
The gelding was dropping back in distance after finishing seventh to Stratum Star in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) on September 26.
"When Michael got off him after the Sir Rupert Clarke he said he loomed up but said he's a high-pressure 1200 metre horse that can charge home," Hayes said.
"If the Manikato looks a high-pressure race we might sit him back and see if he can run on."
Hayes said Fast `N' Rocking was likely to head to Sandown instead of the Flemington carnival for the Kevin Heffernan Stakes, a race he won last year.
Fast `N' Rocking's win completed a treble for the Lindsay Park team after victories in the Blue Sapphire Stakes with Keen Array and He Or She in the Spicer Thoroughbred Stakes.
