Tourneur to ride Let's Make Adeal in Cup

Sunday 18 October 2015, 5:18pm

Adelaide jockey Dom Tourneur will ride lightweight Melbourne Cup hope Let's Make Adeal.

Tourneur, who rode Eclair Choice to a dead-heat for first in the Group Two Caulfield Sprint on Saturday, will also ride the Nigel Blackiston-trained mare in this week's Moonee Valley Cup.

Let's Make Adeal earned an automatic ticket to the Melbourne Cup when she won The Bart Cummings (2500m) at Flemington, beating subsequent Caulfield Cup third placegetter Our Ivanhowe.

The mare has 50.5kg in the Melbourne Cup.

Let's Make Adeal is a granddaughter of Let's Elope who won the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups in 1991.

Blackiston confirmed on Twitter on Sunday Tourneur had been booked for the Melbourne Cup and Moonee Valley Cup rides.

"An experienced, light & smart rider," Blackiston tweeted.

Let's Make Adeal is a $31 chance in the Melbourne Cup.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Park has booked young Sydney jockey Sam Clipperton for Thousand Guineas winner Stay With Me in the Group One Myer Classic on October 31.

Stay With Me has 49kg in the weight-for-age race for fillies and mares.
