Trainer Pat Duff and jockey Jeff Lloyd continued their strong start to the season when Mock Me Not scored an upset win at Ipswich on Wednesday.

The veteran pair have combined with 22 runners this season for seven wins and three minor placings.

Duff has been one of Queensland's top trainers for more than 40 years while Lloyd's career reads like a travel agent's guide book with nearly 5000 winners across Australia, South Africa, Mauritius, Hong Kong, Germany, Singapore, England and Macau.

Mock Me Not ($15) scored her second win since returning to Duff's stable after failing to get into foal last year.

"We had a nice run behind the pace and she got a split in the straight at the right time," Lloyd said.

Promising stayer Chillin With Dylan ($3.80) appreciated a fast pace to score a second-up win in the Last Man Stands T20 Cricket Hcp (1350m).

Trainer Ben Ahrens has a good opinion of Chillin With Dylan who ran in last season's Queensland Derby and while he plans to keep the horse in Brisbane in the short-term, Ahrens could be tempted interstate if the four-year-old continues to improve.

"That was only his second win and they can go off a bit when they try hard and don't win," Ahrens said.

"If he comes up this time we might look later at races like the Christmas Cup in Sydney."

Ahrens and Lloyd both finished the day with doubles after combining with Dame Destiny who led all the way to win the Vogel Bobcat Hire Hcp (1100m).

"She was unlucky at her first run back from a spell at the Sunshine Coast and we did things a bit differently by keeping her fresh," Ahrens said.

"I didn't expect her to lead but that is why you have jockeys like Jeff (Lloyd), they can sum up a situation and take advantage."

Meanwhile, trainer Tony Crane was rewarded for his hard work with former barrier rogue Affray who won the Blue Dog Sports Plate (1100m).

"He was a real handful when we got him and a lot of hard work has gone into him," Crane said.
