Another Impressive Star Witness Winner

Friday 23 October 2015, 9:11am

The winners have been coming at a fast and furious rate for dual Group I winner Star Witness this season with well bred filly Minetti opening her account with a dominant victory at Ballarat on Thursday to be his 15th winner of the season.

Prepared by Team Hawkes, Minetti improved on placings at her first two starts to score a bold front running win.

She surged to the front from an outside gate and led throughout to take the 1000 metre maiden by two and a half lengths.

Minetti was passed in shy of her reserve at the Magic Millions when consigned by Rosemont Stud and is the second winner for Group II winning Stravinsky mare La Italia (NZ), who died last year.

Minetti continues a red hot run of success for her sire Star Witness, who has had an impressive nine winners this month.

Standing at Widden Stud at a fee of $22,000, Star Witness is the leading second season  sire in Australia by winners this season and is second to only Hinchinbrook by earnings.
