Kris Lees has delved into his bag of tricks in a quest to win Saturday's $250,000 Inglis Classic with Devil In A Dress.

The filly will wear blinkers for the first time in the lucrative 1200m race which is restricted to graduates of the 2012 sale of the same name.

Devil In A Dress won her only start at Scone last month and while pleased with the result Lees saw room for improvement and took her back to the trials.

"I wanted to trial her in blinkers because I thought she did too much wrong first-up," Lees said.

"She did that and she'll wear them on Saturday."

A $30,000 purchase, Devil In A Dress is by Strada, a son of the good mare Shindig who was trained by Lees' late father Max.

Nick Moraitis races Devil In A Dress in partnership with Macquarie Stud's David Baxter and Moraitis is well acquainted with the filly's family, having had an interest in both Strada and Devil In A Dress' dam Pentelikon.

Lees isn't sure how the filly's Scone win will measure up against a host of different formlines in Saturday's race but says Devil In A Dress has gone forward since her debut.

"I feel she's going in the right direction, whether she's good enough we'll see," Lees said.

"(At Scone) she was doing a bit wrong and then once she really knuckled down she let down quite well in the last 100 metres to get away from them."

Lees will be chasing his second win in the race after the 2006 victory by Absolutelyfabulous.

Devil In A Dress is prominent in TAB markets on the Inglis Classic at $6, behind favourite Fuerza ($3.30) and Marseille Roulette ($4.80).

The youngster will spearhead a five-horse team for Lees at Rosehill, four of them last-start winners.
