Glen Boss will miss the opening day of the Melbourne Cup carnival due to suspension.
Boss received a 10-meeting ban for careless riding aboard Valley Sweetheart in the Crockett Stakes at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
The jockey pushed out on the home turn, causing Miss Gidget, ridden by Mark Zahra, to be checked before Valley Sweetheart went onto finish a half-head second to Lake Geneva.
Boss will return in time for the Melbourne Cup.
Queensland apprentice Luke Dittman had seven meetings added to a suspension incurred in Queensland on a careless-riding charge aboard Worthy Cause in the Crystal Mile and is free to return on November 12.
Cox Plate-winning jockey Hugh Bowman incurred two whip breaches and was fined a total of $2300, $2000 coming after being four strikes over the limit during his winning ride The United States in the Moonee Valley Cup.
