Hugh Bowman will be striving to win his fourth Victoria Derby in six years when he rides Godolphin colt Shards at Flemington.
Bowman, winner of last week's Cox Plate on Winx, partners Shards for the first time in Saturday's 2500m Classic.
The premier Sydney jockey's first Victoria Derby win came on Lion Tamer in 2010 and was followed by Sangster a year later and Polanski in 2013.
Last week's Group Two Vase runner-up Shards, one of two Godolphin runners in the Derby, is at $14 with the Mick Price-trained Tarzino the $2.35 favourite.
Fellow jockey Damien Oliver, will be aiming at his sixth Victoria Derby and third in four years when he rides the Stuart Webb-trained Get The Picture.
Oliver's most recent Derby wins have been aboard Preferment last year and Fiveandahalfstar in 2012.
