Berry, Lane banned for Flemington rides

Tommy Berry and Damian Lane will miss the final two meetings of the Melbourne Cup carnival after being suspended for careless riding in the Mackinnon Stakes.

Stewards charged Berry and Lane for contributing to interference suffered by Flamingo Star at the top of the straight.

They were banned for seven meetings starting but can ride at Flemington on Tuesday.

Berry has the ride on Trip To Paris in the Melbourne Cup while Lane rides Quest For More.

Perth jockey Joseph Azzopardi was suspended for 12 meetings for careless riding in the Victoria Derby on Kia Ora Koutou.
