Queensland jockey Rikki Jamieson will be out of action for more than a month after being injured in a fall at Beaudesert.
Jamieson had a successful stint as an apprentice and was riding for the first time as a senior jockey on Saturday when her mount fell.
She was treated on the track for 40 minutes before being taken to hospital for X rays.
Jamieson's partner, jockey Matt Palmer, said Jamieson had broken her left arm AND had facial lacerations and extensive bruising.
"She is obviously pretty banged up and it will take a while to repair," Palmer said.
