HORSERACING DEATHS IN AUSTRALIA:
* 127 racehorses have died on tracks since the previous Melbourne Cup.
* There were 133 deaths on track last year.
* Australian Racing have recorded 184,800 race starters this year.
* Sudden death, which killed Admire Rakti in 2014's Cup, is extremely rare. Only 0.007 per cent of starters in Victoria have died from the condition over the past decade.
* Two riders have been killed this year on tracks in non-race incidents.
* 40 per cent of jockeys will be out of racing due to injury for five weeks every year.
* 800 riders have died since racing began in Australia in 1890. 13 jockeys have been killed in the past decade.
