* First Cup since Cummings died in August, aged 87

* Trained record 12 Cup winners

* Family pride of place in horse-drawn carriage in Cup parade

* Race three on Cup Day renamed JB Cummings AM Tribute Plate

- Won by De Little Engine, trained by Danny O'Brien who worked for Cummings for three years

* Trainer grandson James has first win on Melbourne Cup day on his own - Zarzali in the 1700m mares' race

* Tribute before running of Cup

- Son Anthony and grandson James driven down Flemington straight

- James carrying 2015 Melbourne Cup trophy

- Anthony carrying 1965 Cup won by Light Fingers, the first won by his father

- In mounting yard they walk through 12-strong guard of honour featuring racing colours of Cummings' 12 winners
