Rich Ricci has enjoyed his first Melbourne Cup experience and cannot wait to be a part of the action again.
His horse Max Dynamite was a fast-finishing second to Prince Of Penzance in Tuesday's race at Flemington, failing by a half-length.
Ricci has a team of 60 horses trained by Willie Mullins in Ireland.
They are mainly jumpers and Max Dynamite was purchased with a hurdling career in mind.
While the horse is a winner over the jumps, Max Dynamite has also shown good flat ability since joining the Mullins team.
A former banker, Ricci said he knew of the Melbourne Cup but Tuesday's was his first involvement in the race.
Ricci, who doesn't like watching his horses run and listened to the call of the Melbourne Cup, said it sounded like Max Dynamite was luckless.
"It sounded good but he had little luck in running and had to come around the favourite," Ricci said.
"It's been a tremendous experience and I'd love to come back, but I'll leave that to Willie (Mullins) to plan."
Ricci said he enjoyed the whole Cup experience, including Saturday night's barrier draw where he was taken by the story behind subsequent winner Prince Of Penzance.
Steve Payne, the horse's strapper and the brother of winning jockey Michelle, drew the inside barrier.
"It's a fantastic story for racing with the winning connections," Ricci said.
"The other night with the barrier draw when he wanted number one and they got number one.
"It's a great story for racing."
Asked if he'll be back, Ricci was succinct in his reply.
"You bet."
