Mare shows rivals a clean pair of heels

A lack of suitable Sydney races for Saturday's Rosehill winner She's Clean means she is likely to be aimed at the Brisbane winter carnival.

Trainer Chris Waller said the mare was still learning her craft and the next step up from Saturday's 1300m Benchmark 80 was a bridge too far at this stage of her career.

"It's a big step up to Listed company and there are no open mares races anymore," Waller said.

"She is still structurally immature for her age.

"If she keeps going it will be for just one more run and then we'll look at Brisbane with her.

"There are some nice races over their carnival which will suit."

Sent out the $2.60 favourite, She's Clean showed some of her immaturity when she hung out down the straight but she was still packing too many punches for Princess Layla ($4.60), beating her rival by three-quarters of a length.

Waller utilised the 3kg claim of Shaun Guymer on She's Clean who scored her fifth win from 12 starts for the Ingham family.

Earlier Frozen Rope made up for his narrow defeat on New Year's Day with a comprehensive win over 1500 metres.

Trainer Adam Duggan said the five-year-old's 1-1/4 length win over Sailor's Farewell was an important stepping stone in his career.

"He'll come back for a 2000-metre race in two weeks," Duggan said.

"He was off for a long time with a leg issue but he has come back stronger and is more versatile.

"If he can run a strong 2000 metres then the options open up for him."
