Rosehill winner Campania in Oaks frame

A last-to-first win at Rosehill by Campania has reinforced trainer Garry Frazer's belief he has a genuine Oaks filly on his hands.

A betting drifter from $8 to $15 in Saturday's Inglis 3YO Bonus (1500m) despite her last-start win, Campania dropped out to the tail of the field early but unleashed a home straight sprint that was unmatched by her rivals.

She overhauled Imperil ($9.50) to win by a long neck with Laser Flash ($9.50) another half length third.

"I'm hoping she is an Oaks filly," Frazer said.

"She is by Dubai Destination who is one of the best staying sires to ever come here.

"Her racing pattern tells me she is a stayer and she will be at her best at 2000 metres and over."

Jockey Kathy O'Hara is also certain the filly has the right credentials to run in the Australian Oaks (2400m) on April 20.

"She was ultra impressive," O'Hara said.

"She has Oaks written all over her.

"I was surprised how quickly she picked them up but she had wasted no energy early."

Campania is raced by her breeder George Altomonte for whom Frazer has been a pre-trainer for many years.

Among the horses Altomonte has bred and raced are dual Group One-winning two-year-old Hasna and 1997 Metropolitan winner Heart Ruler both trained by Gai Waterhouse.

But perhaps the best he has bred was one he sold - the 2008 Golden Slipper winner Sebring who also trained by Waterhouse.
