Frankel's brother well beaten on debut

Thursday 24 January 2013, 3:45pm

Morpheus, Frankel's Oasis Dream half-brother, finished well out of the frame at his first start at Nottingham.

The Sir Henry Cecil-trained colt was sent off at odds of 3-1 to make a winning debut in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden Stakes but never really looked like making his mark in the mile heat.

Tom Queally had to push him along in the early stages and while he briefly looked a danger when switched wide at the top of the straight, he found little under pressure and finished mid-division.

Godolphin enjoyed a one-two in the event with favourite Tawhid running out an easy victor over Personable.
