Chautauqua firming in Lightning betting

Thursday 18 February 2016, 8:40am

The gap has closed in betting between the two favourites for the Lightning Stakes at Flemington.

Earlier in the week Exosphere opened the $2.40 favourite with the TAB in the 1000m-Group One contest with Chautauqua at $3.

Following Wednesday's barrier draw, Chautauqua has firmed to $2.60 with Exosphere remaining the $2.40 top choice.

Terravista and Delectation, who have lowered Chautauqua's colours in the past two runnings of the Darley Classic at Flemington, share the next line at $8.

Japonisme, the winner of the Coolmore Stud Stakes for three-year-olds at Flemington in October, is at $9.

Exosphere and Chautauqua have drawn next to each other in barriers one and two with the Chris Waller-trained Delectation drawing widest of the seven runners.
