The Lightning Stakes placegetters are among first acceptances for next month's Newmarket Handicap.

Chautauqua, Terravista and Japonisme have been paid up for a return bout in the $1.25 million race over the straight 1200m course at Flemington on March 12.

Twenty-four sprinters were paid up for Melbourne's premier sprint including Delectation, Scissor Kick, Rich Enuff and quality three-year-olds Keen Array, Secret Agenda and Kinglike.

Missing from declarations are Godolphin three-year-old Exosphere, who has returned to Sydney, Lucky Hussler, Press Statement and Turn Me Loose.

Handicaps for the Group One sprint will be released on March 1.

Twenty-seven gallopers remain in contention for the $1.5 million Australian Cup (2000m) on March 12 with Fawkner, Our Ivanhowe, Rising Romance, Suavito and Mourinho among first declarations.

Notable omissions from the race are Criterion and Mongolian Khan who are being aimed at races in Sydney.

Victoria Derby winner Tarzino, first-up Sydney winner Press Statement and exciting New Zealand galloper Xtravagant remain among the 25 three-year-olds still in the running for the Australian Guineas.

Jameka and Stay With Me are some of the class fillies still in the race while Don't Doubt Mamma, winner of The Vanity on Saturday, wasn't paid up for on Tuesday.
