Nolan hopes Money Talk will be a smash hit

Thursday 3 March 2016, 11:57am

Trainer Paul Nolan names his horses after rock hits and his new-look team has been on song on the racetrack.

Nolan will be hoping to have his fourth horse break maiden ranks in recent weeks when Money Talk steps out in the Mary Valley Farm Handicap at Doomben on Saturday.

Money Talk, named in reference to the AC/DC hit Money Talks, is typical of Nolan's team because he is a three-quarter brother to Doncaster Mile winner Sacred Choice.

"The AC/DC song is actually Money Talks but racing authorities would only let us register Money Talk," Nolan said.

"We got him for only $18,000 because he was a big, leggy type who most thought would not be ready to race at two years. But he has stood up to racing and done well so far.

"He is a big boy at 510 kilos but he will furnish into an even nicer three-year-old."

A Toowoomba accountant, Nolan mixes his taxation consultancy business with training and has had considerable success with a small team.
