Our Boy Malachi out of Galaxy

Friday 18 March 2016, 2:16pm

Our Boy Malachi has been scratched from the Group One Galaxy after suffering a knock to his off foreleg.

Hawkes Racing says it is not serious and the prolific winning sprinter will run in a barrier trial ahead of an assault on next month's TJ Smith Stakes.

His withdrawal leaves visiting Melbourne jockey Dwayne Dunn without a ride in the 1100m-race for which the Gai Waterhouse-trained English is the favourite.

Dunn will ride Star Turn for the Hawkes team in the Golden Slipper and stablemate Lake Geneva in the Group Three Birthday Card Stakes.

Pittsburgh Flyer and Griante have gained starts in the Galaxy with the scratchings of Flamberge and Our Boy Malachi.

Craig Williams, who was declared on two horses in the Galaxy, will now ride Griante with a new jockey needed for Lumosty.
