Trainer Bjorn Baker could be forgiven for thinking that it just wasn't meant to be his day at Rosehill.
Two close seconds from Twilight Royale in the Spotless Handicap (1200m) and Burbero in the Norm Snowden Handicap (1500m) were accompanied by a seventh place from Great Dansaar in Saturday's TAB.com.au Handicap (1400m).
His final runner of the day brightened proceedings with Geemeup winning the Rosehill Gardens Handicap (1400m).
Geemeup got the better of Magnolia Lane by a neck with Matignon a half length away third.
A delighted Baker praised jockey Brenton Avdulla's judgement of the tempo.
"It was a super ride and I thought that she was my roughest chance of the day," Baker said.
"We will just have to see where we go from here."
Twilight Royale's second to Everage on the heavy track in the two-year-old event did little to dent Baker's confidence heading to the Inglis Premier at Flemington in two weeks.
The filly scored a debut win in the Inglis Nursery in December followed by two seconds from her three starts heading into the rich sales-restricted race.
