Attention grabs the limelight at Rosehill

Saturday 26 March 2016, 2:19pm

The winning streak of Snowden Racing and bloodstock agent James Harron in major juvenile races has continued at Rosehill with Attention.

After a battle with the favourite Crafty Cop ($4.60) up the straight, Attention ($20) got the upper hand in Saturday's Group Two Schweppervescence (1400m) to put himself in line for a start in the ATC Sires' Produce Stakes.

Prized Icon ($12) made ground to edge Crafty Cop out of second by a long neck, the same margin as that between the first two.

Harron's green and gold colours have been carried to wins this year in the Magic Millions and Golden Slipper by Capitalist and the Black Opal Stakes by Defcon.

"He has been crying out for 1400 metres and is coming to hand now," Harron said.

"We wanted Blake to be aggressive early and it worked out."

Co-trainer Peter Snowden said the colt would definitely head to Randwick for one of the two races left in the two-year-old triple crown.

"Whether it be the Sires', which I think is probably the right race for him, or the Champagne well see how he settles down and make our mind up during the week," he said.

"But I would think the Sires' would be the race for him."

Attention is likely to be joined in the Sires' by stablemate Detective, another racing in Harron's colours.

Detective has had four starts and run second as many times, earning his latest cheque in the Group Two VRC Sires' Produce.

Attention's jockey Blake Shinn said if he was given the choice in the Sires' Produce, Attention was definitely his mount.

"He has a lot of upside and is very exciting," Shinn said.

"He had to do it tough early and stuck his head out at the end."
