Kraftwerk to resume interrupted campaign

A poor blood picture has interrupted Kraftwerk's campaign but his trainer expects him to be ready to take his place at Doomben.

Kraftwerk was scratched from the open handicap at Doomben on Saturday after trainer Tony Gollan wasn't satisfied with his blood count.

His scratching upset the pattern of the race as he as he was the expected leader in the event which eventually went to outsider Aldini who led all the way.

"It was a bit hard to watch the race because that is where we were going - straight to the lead," Gollan said.

"But I am glad we picked it up because Kraftwerk has had a good campaign and to run him would have ruined it."

"He will hopefully be right to run in the Class 6 over 1350 metres or the open at 1110 metres on Saturday," Gollan said.

Kraftwerk will be aimed at the lower rung stakes races during the winter if his form holds up over the next few weeks.

Fellow Eagle Farm trainer Desleigh Forster has entered Too Good To Refuse in a 1350m-race for three-year-olds on Saturday after aborting his Sydney campaign when he ran last in the Hobartville Stakes.

Too Good To Refuse finished a close fifth in the Spring Champion Stakes in which his stablemate I'm Belucci was runner-up to Vanbrugh.

Forster also took I'm Belucci home after he failed in the Rosehill Guineas.

He ran second in a 2020m-race at Doomben on Saturday and didn't hit the line as well as the trainer hoped and she said he would wear blinkers next time.

"I'm Belucci will have his next start in the Gunsynd Classic at Doomben (April 30) and then have two more runs into the Queensland Derby," Forster said.

"I have been dying to try blinkers on him for months. I will have three runners in the Gunsynd with I'm Belucci, Too Good To Refuse and Cylinder Beach."
