Top Of My List wins well on debut

Monday 28 March 2016, 3:10pm

Trainer Anthony Cummings may have unearthed a Queensland winter carnival prospect with Top Of My List showing her credentials with an impressive winning debut.

Despite missing the start, Top Of My List drew away in the straight to win by half a length from Make A Ripple with Pacific Pearl third in Monday's 1300m maiden at Warwick Farm.

Stable foreman Edward Cummings said there was scope for improvement for the filly.

"She's coming good at the moment for something like a Queensland carnival stakes race if she continues to improve," Cummings said.

Cummings said Top Of My List would be suited between 1400 and 1600 metres.

"She was a little bit wayward today," Cummings said.

"She's obviously going to improve.

"We've always thought she had a bit of a motor there."

The Gerald Ryan-trained Crystal Flute, a three-quarter sister of Group One winner Manhattan Rain, was unable to break through at her fifth start.

The $1.85 favourite beat just one runner home in the six-horse field.
