Pindan a Pearl for Tim Martin at Rosehill

Saturday 21 May 2016, 4:31pm

Anyone wanting to buy Pindan Pearl at the upcoming broodmare sale will be disappointed if Tim Martin has his way.

At her first start for the Rosehill trainer, the five-year-old claimed a decisive win on Saturday on her new home track in the Cecil Godby Handicap (1400m).

Originally trained by the now-retired Peter Moody in Melbourne, Pindan Pearl had one start for Andrew Noblet before arriving at Martin's stable a few weeks ago.

"It's her first start for me and on her work I thought she would go well," Martin said.

"She is in the catalogue for the sale in a couple of weeks but I'll be recommending she keeps racing.

"I've told the owners I would be taking her out of the sale if she was mine and give her another year.

"On what she's shown me she has plenty of racing and some good wins left in her."

Ridden by Tye Angland, Pindan Pearl ($13) overhauled Distraught ($6) to win by 1-3/4 lengths with the same margin to the third-placed Sebrina ($14).
