King's Stand option for Holler

Thursday 26 May 2016, 9:05am

Trainer John O'Shea has not ruled out running Group One-winning colt Holler in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Godolpin has declared a preference for the three-year-old to contest the Diamond Jubilee Stakes (1200m), but O'Shea has yet to close the door on stepping back to five furlongs (1000m).

The winner of the Group One Canterbury Stakes, Holler will leave Australia on Tuesday.

"He'll be based at Godolphin's Moulton Paddocks and we hope does well out there," O'Shea said.

"He's in both races, but we'll play it by ear. It's obviously up to the powers that be, but we'll wait to see how the next fortnight pans out."

O'Shea confirmed Godolphin's retained Australian rider James McDonald would ride Holler at Royal Ascot.

Holler is at around 12-1 with British bookmakers for both the King's Stand and the Diamond Jubilee.

He was last seen in a competitive race finishing a short-head second to Flamberge in the William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley on March 24.
