Sydney sprinter Dothraki is on the cusp of joining a select group of racehorses to win more than $1 million in stakes without claiming a Group One race.
Dothraki has won $977,060 prize money and needs only to run in the first four in the Group One Doomben 10,000 to pass reach $1 million mark.
The five-year-old raced five time at Group One level with his best efforts a third in The Galaxy at Rosehill and second in the BTC Cup at Doomben two weeks ago.
However, Dothraki has shown his honesty in 23 starts in stakes races for four wins and 11 minor placings.
Jockey Blake Shinn thought Dothraki was going to win the BTC Cup at the 200m when he loomed up on the outside of eventual winner Malaguerra.
"He was going strongly but the winner just kicked back a bit too well," Shinn said.
Dothraki will be joined in the 10,000 by stablemate and fellow Triple Crown Syndicate sprinter Charlie Boy.
"They have both been good since the BTC Cup. They have both showed they can handle Doomben and there should be pace on which should suit them," trainer Paul Snowden said.
Dothraki is a $7 chance with Charlie Boy at $17.
