Dylan Dunn received extra satisfaction out of the win of Lahqa at Sandown.
Not only did the victory provide the apprentice with a winning double on Saturday but he also had the better of his father Dwayne in a battle over the final 300m of the Ladbrokes Odds Boost Handicap.
His double came for high profile owners, The Queen through Bold Sniper while Lahqa races in the colours of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the deputy ruler of Dubai.
"I don't know what's better, riding a winner for The Queen, the Sheikh or beating the old man," Dunn said.
A $7.50 chance, Lahqa scored a long neck win over Dwayne Dunn-ridden Weather The Storm ($18) with Fife ($10) flashing home for third, a head away.
The double gives Dunn 28 wins for the season and puts him six clear of injured Jye McNeil in the apprentices' premiership race and eight clear of Michael Dee.
