While he admits he is sending Satin Shoes on a mission to run second to Black Caviar on Saturday, trainer Clarry Conners is more confident about the chances of Dear Demi at Rosehill.
Satin Shoes runs in the Group One Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington while Dear Demi begins her Australian Oaks campaign in the Light Fingers Stakes at Rosehill.
The winner of the Victorian Oaks in November, Dear Demi has had one barrier trial since coming back to Conners' Warwick Farm stable, running a close third behind Light Fingers rivals Brave Soul and Bennetta.
"She is just right for 1200 metres," Conners said.
"She's a bit fresh. I expect her to be running home but I also expect her to go well.
"She is beautiful and this race suits her.
"Satin Shoes runs in the Lightning and second looks the best she can do."
Dear Demi's program will incorporate three Group One races - the Coolmore Classic (1500m), the Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) and the Australian Oaks (2400m).
After the Light Fingers, she will run in the Group Two Surround Stakes on her home track three weeks later with the Group One treble at two week intervals after that.
"It's the right progression for her," Conners said.
Her Oaks winning jockey Jim Cassidy will be reunited with the John Singleton-owned filly on Saturday.
Conners said last-start Canterbury winner Turnley was likely to miss the Royal Sovereign Stakes (1200m), Saturday's Group Two race for colts and geldings.
"I put him in that race and also the CS Hayes at Flemington but I think I'll take the easy option with him and wait another week and run him in a Benchmark 75," he said.
"He's going really well and I think he can step up but I want to make it as easy as possible."
New Zealand Group One winner Sacred Falls heads the 12 entries for the Royal Sovereign.
A recent addition to the Chris Waller stable, Sacred Falls is unbeaten in six starts, winning the 2000 Guineas at Riccarton in November.
Rebel Dane will make his anticipated return in the Royal Sovereign after trainer Gary Portelli elected to keep him at home last Saturday week due to a heavy Rosehill track.
