Frankuus makes it 4 from 5 for Frankel

Friday 10 June 2016, 8:52am

Champion racehorse Frankel continues to make his mark as a stallion with Frankuus giving him his fourth winner from five starters.

The Mark Johnston-trained colt was unruly in the mounting yard but much more tractable in the seven-furlong (1400m) race at Haydock.

Frankuus follows in the footsteps of Queen Kindly, Fair Eva and Cunco, who could run at Royal Ascot next week in the Chesham Stakes, by making a winning debut for his sire.

"With every Frankel winner that had gone in the pressure was ramped up a little more and in the paddock beforehand he was the horse people wanted a photo of," the trainer's assistant Charlie Johnston told Racing UK.

"It was a really pleasing performance. There are lots of things he can step forward on mentally as well."
