Leading New Zealand jockey Lisa Allpress has boosted her premiership hopes with five winners at Oamaru.

Her five winners on Thursday extended her lead over Matthew Cameron to 12 and took her to within four wins of her career-best season.

She has now ridden 155 winners for 2015/16 with her previous best recorded in 2011/12 when she won her first premiership.

Allpress continues her bid for another title with rides at Otaki on Friday and Riccarton on Saturday.

Her season includes Group One wins on Valley Girl and Luna Rossa.

The mother of two has also ridden successfully in Singapore and Japan.
