The Bart Cummings-trained Norzita has avenged a controversial last-start loss with a dominant Flight Stakes win at Randwick.
Beaten on protest by Longport in the Tea Rose Stakes, there were no concerns for the Norzita camp this time as she romped to an emphatic victory.
Racing in Dato Tan Chin Nam's famous silks, Norzita crept into the race entering the straight before coasting up to the leader Longport at the 300m.
She put the issue beyond doubt with her turn of foot, leaving Longport to finish second and Dear Demi to take out the minor placing.
It was only in July that Norzita made her racetrack debut and her Group One success on Saturday was her second victory in six starts.
But it remains to be seen if she will continue her spring campaign in Melbourne.
"It's one step at a time as Bart has told me," Duncan Ramage, the racing manager for Dato Tan Chin Nam, said.
"We'll consult after today but she won with authority."
