Schofield cops careless riding ban

Wednesday 17 August 2016, 6:45pm

A careless riding suspension has cost jockey Glyn Schofield the ride on Group One aspirant Good Standing in the Run To The Rose.

Schofield was suspended for four meetings for allowing his mount Think Aloud to shift in Oh So Assertive in a race at Canterbury on Wednesday.

It is the second suspension in two days for Schofield who copped a ban for weighing in heavy at Newcastle on Tuesday.

That means he is free to ride Prized Icon in the Up And Coming Stakes on Saturday but will miss the Group Two Run To The Rose on August 27 when he was scheduled to ride Good Standing.

Scofield is free to return on September 3 for Chelmsford Stakes day.
