Odds-on favourite All Too Hard has been scratched from the Australian Guineas at Flemington with an elevated temperature.
The half brother to champion Black Caviar had been aiming for his third Group One win this campaign in Saturday's feature for three-year-olds.
The valuable colt beat older horses in both the C F Orr Stakes and the Futurity Stakes last month.
Co-trainer Wayne Hawkes says the problem can be compared to a human cold and is not serious.
"We took his temperature this morning and it was just up at 39," Hawkes told Sydney's Sky Sports Radio.
"In human terms he's got a cold. He has had some antibiotics.
"All we need to do is not run him and get him right and bring him to Sydney.
"He will be back. He's tough.
All Too Hard was to be the star attraction at the meeting with Albrecht now the nominal Guineas favourite.
